The Flowers Heritage Foundation Fall 2007 Auction Gala

The Flowers Heritage Foundation Fall Auction Gala was held at the spectacular Oakland Rotunda on the autumn night of October 20, 2007. Thanks to the generous contributions of our sponsors and donors, more than $52,000 was raised to support the Foundation’s public health programs.

The nearly 200 guests enjoyed the velvety voice of emcee Clifford Brown Jr. and soulful serenades of the talented Oakland School for the Arts Combo as they bid on luxury travel packages, gourmet dining, fine wine, and entertainment packages, indulgent spa treatments, and much more. Notable auction items included a one-week stay at the Resort at Mauna Kea in Hawaii, a private sailing adventure on the Sausalito Bay, and a meet-and-greet with the Warriors Girls Dance Team!

The Foundation was very proud to present our first annual Champion in Public Health Award to Frederick S. Mayer, R.Ph, M.P.H., commending his tremendous life’s work in the fields of pharmacy and public health. We were privileged to honor Fred’s extraordinary accomplishments and commitment to promoting and protecting the health rights of communities in need throughout our country.

Proceeds from the event will support the Foundation’s commitment to providing solutions for public health issues affecting the underserved and improving the lives of the most fragile among us through our programs.
